VietNamNet Bridge - The Ho Chi Minh National Politics-Administrative Academy and the Hanoi Party Committee held a grand ceremony in Hanoi on May 4 to mark the 190th birthday of Karl Marx (May 5).

Present at the function were National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong, Party Politburo member and Standing member of the Party Secretariat Truong Tan Sang, National Assembly Deputy Chairman Tong Thi Phong and representatives from the city’s agencies and revolutionaries.

“Karl Marx is the great teacher of the working class and working people all over the world” said Director of the Academy Le Huu Nghia at the ceremony. He stressed that Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought have become the ideological foundation of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the compass for Vietnam’s revolution.

“Marxism-Leninism has lit the way for the Vietnamese nation not only in our past struggle for independence and freedom but also in the current renewal process, socialist construction and national defence, as well as the industrialsation and modernisation cause,” he said.

The researcher affirmed that the achievements of the national renewal process proved the value and vitality of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought and the correctness of the Party’s policy on socialist building.
